"I Am the Night" is a new mniseries that reunites "Wonder Woman" helmer Patty Jenkins with actor Chris Pine. The six-episode period crime drama tells the incredible story of Fauna Hodel (India Eisley), a white teenage girl who was given away at birth and seeks information about her birth mother with the help of reporter Jay Singletary (Chris Pine). The investigation, however, uncovers a sinister Hollywood mystery that could be tied to the infamous Black Dahlia murder.

The series is based on Fauna Hodel's autobiography "One Day She'll Darken: The Mysterious Beginnings of Fauna Hodel", and it's directed by Patty Jenkins, Victoria Mahoney and Carl Franklin. The cast also includes Leland Orser, Jefferson Mays, Connie Nielsen, Yul Vazquez and Justin Cornwell.

"I Am the Night" premiered on TNT on January 28, 2019 and received mixed-to-positive reviews from critics.

"I Am the Night tells the incredible story of Fauna Hodel (Eisley) who was given away at birth. As Fauna begins to investigate the secrets to her past, she follows a sinister trail that swirls ever closer to an infamous Hollywood gynecologist, Dr. George Hodel (Mays), a man involved in the darkest Hollywood debauchery. Pine plays Jay Singletary, a former Marine-turned-hack-reporter/paparazzo.

Sam Sheridan, author of A Fighter's Heart and The Disaster Diaries, wrote five of the six episodes, inspired by the life of Fauna Hodel. The series is produced by Turner's Studio T, with Jenkins, Anonymous Content and Sugar23’s Michael Sugar (13 Reasons Why, Spotlight), Pine, Sheridan and Carl Franklin, (House of Cards, Homeland) serving as executive producers, with Franklin also directing two episodes."
