Although irrelevant in pretty much every way possible, the MTV Movie & TV Awards (formerly just the MTV Movie Awards) do exist and I have to write about them. It's funny how the awards now include both movies and TV shows in the same categories, which is the best evidence we have that Hollywood is in a crisis, churning out more crappy movies than ever before, so MTV had to bring in more popular television stuff to pad out the nominations. But enough about my ranting, let's move on to the winners.
"Black Panther" and "Stranger Things" were the most nominated, with seven categories each, and also won the most awards. Disney and Marvel's comic book blockbuster won four awards (including Best Movie), while the Netflix series took home three trophies (including Best Show). Chadwick Boseman won two awards for Best Hero and Best Movie Performance. Oh, and if you wanted more proof that the MTV Awards are irrelevant, "Keeping Up with the Kardashians" won Best Reality Series.
The ceremony was held at Santa Monica Airport's Barker Hangar and was hosted by Tiffany Haddish, who also won a trophy for Best Comedic Performance for her role in "Girls Trip".
