James Bobin ("The Muppets") will direct from a script by Nick Stoller and Danielle Sanchez-Witzel, and production is expected to begin later this summer with the release date set for August 2, 2019.
Derbez has become quite a bankable star after breaking out in 2013 with the comedy "Instructions Not Included", which he also directed and co-wrote. He also starred in "How to Be a Latin Lover" and the recent "Overboard" remake, and appeared in "Geostorm" and "Miracles from Heaven".
