Disney and Marvel have done it again. "Avengers: Infinity War" destroyed every possible record with a monstrous opening weekend at the box-office that once again proves the studio's dominance on the superhero market. No other films had wide releases this week, and the old releases registered steep drops. Except "Black Panther"

Find out more about the weekend box office after the jump.

"Avengers: Infinity War" had only one major contender to beat in order to break the all-time opening weekend record: "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" which grossed $247.9 million in December 2015. That record has fallen now that the Marvel behemoth opened with a slightly higher $250 million. Once the actuals come in, however, that amount could go even higher, as was the case with "Black Panther", which the studio under-estimated by $10 million.

Other records beaten by the third "Avengers" movie include: largest single Saturday gross, largest single Sunday gross, largest April opening, largest Spring opening, fastest film to reach $150, $200 and $250 million.

"Infinity War" performed exceptionally well overseas, as well. The film was released internationally on April 25th and has brought in a total of $380 million in five days, bringing its worldwide tally to a record-breaking $630 million. The previous international record was held by "Fate of the Furious" with $541.9 million. That film however had also opened in China, where it had grossed $185 million. Meanwhile, "Infinity War" will open in China on May 11. Expect a serious box-office boost at that time.

"Avengers: Infinity War" received a generous reception from critics (84% on Rotten Tomatoes and 68 on Metacritic), and CinemaScore reports an "A" grade from its opening night polls.

But enough about the Avengers, there are other movies in The Top 10, and the first is the #2 horror film "A Quiet Place" which grossed $10.6 million over the weekend. The film dropped 49% and its domestic total has reached an impressive $148.1 million. Internationally it has brought in $87.2 million. Its production budget is estimated at $17 million.

The Amy Schumer comedy "I Feel Pretty" held its position in third place after dropping 49% and grossed $8.1 million. The film has raked in $29.5 million, so far, against a $32 million budget.

Dwayne Johnson's "Rampage" dropped a much steeper 64.6%, and brought in $7.1 million over the weekend. The monster movie has grossed $77.9 million domestically, and $256.7 million overseas.

The Top 5 is rounded out by the only movie that managed to drop just 11%, Marvel's "Black Panther". No doubt aided by the incredible turnout for "Infinity War", the Panther brought in $4.3 million over the weekend, bringing its domestic total to $688 million.

The weekend's biggest drop achievement belongs to "Super Troopers 2" which took a steep 76.3% tumble and only grossed $3.6 million, finishing in sixth place. The film has grossed a total of $22 million in 10 days, which is still okay when compared to its $13.5 million budget.
