Paramount Pictures has released the first trailer for director
Gregory Plotkin's
"Paranormal Activity: The Ghost Dimension", the fifth and final entry in the found footage franchise. This last installment follows a new family who move into a house, discover a video camera and some tapes, and get in trouble with the killer entity known as Toby.
For the first time in the history of the series we will be able to actually see the entities, which actually looks more like a gimmick for the movie's 3D presentation. Yes,
"The Ghost Dimension" will be released in 3D. Some of the visual effects remind me of
"Hollow Man". Is that a good, or a bad thing ?
I'm not sure how 3D works in a found footage film and I'm almost too afraid to find out, but I guess the filmmakers probably found ways to stabilize the shots more effectively for the 3D shots. Either way, this final chapter also promises lots of answers to questions that I honestly stopped asking after the third movie.
"Paranormal Activity: The Ghost Dimension" opens in theaters on October 23rd.
