John Cena and Jason Momoa have joined Warner Bros' action comedy "Killer Vacation". The film's script was written by Mark and Brian Gunn ("Journey 2: Mysterious Island", "Brightburn"), and it has been compared to James Cameron's "True Lies". John Rickard ("Peacemaker") and Peter Safran ("Suicide Squad", "Aquaman") are on board as producers.
Details about the project are being kept under wraps, but what is known is that the film was packaged and set up at the studio before Safran and James Gunn took over Warner's DC Films Unit. Momoa and Cena met on the set of the final installment in the "Fast and the Furious" franchise, and according to sources, their chemistry was so good that they wanted to try it out in another film.
Momoa will also appear in the DC movie "Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom", which Safran is also producing. Cena can next be seen in the action comedy "Freelance" directed by Pierre Morel ("Taken"), and is also working on "Honeymoon Friends", the sequel to his Hulu original "Vacation Friends". Both can be seen in "Fast X", which is said to conclude the long-running "Fast & Furious" series.
