Tom Hiddleston to Star in Netflix Political Thriller

Tom Hiddleston to Star in Netflix Political Thriller
Marvel alum Tom Hiddleston returns to television for Netflix's upcoming political thriller "White Stork". Christopher Dunlop ("Jericho") created the 10-episode drama that hails from Eleven, the company behind "Sex Education". TV helmer Kristoffer Nyholm ("Taboo") is set to direct the series from a script penned by Dunlop.

Hiddleston stars as politician James Cooper, who is selected to run for a seat in parliament, but his ambitions and personal life are thwarted when he is the subject of a vetting process by Asher Millan that uncovers potentially damaging secrets buried deep in James' past. Those secrets have the potential to destroy his career, his marriage, and the powerful people backing his campaign.

The series was previously in development under AMC for several years, under the title "Spadehead".

In 2016, Hiddleston starred in the miniseries "The Night Manager" based on John le Carré's novel of the same name, and the role earned him a Golden Globe and an Emmy nomination. The actor will next reprise his Marvel Cinematic Universe role as Loki for Disney+.
