"GLOW" star Betty Gilpin has joined the cast of FX's "Impeachment: American Crime Story", the third installment of the award-winning anthology true crime series created by Scott Alexander, Larry Karaszewski and Tom Rob Smith.
"Impeachment" is based on Jeffrey Toobin's book "A Vast Conspiracy: The Real Story of the Sex Scandal That Nearly Brought Down a President", which was optioned by executive producer Ryan Murphy in 2017, and it focuses on the impeachment of President Bill Clinton in 1998 stemming from his affair with White House intern Monica Lewinsky.
Gilpin will star as conservative author and media figure Ann Coulter, who argued for Clinton's impeachment in her 1998 book "High Crimes and Misdemeanors: The Case Against Bill Clinton", and has been a regular on cable news ever since.
The show's cast also includes Beanie Feldstein ("Booksmart") as Lewinsky, Clive Owen ("The Knick") as Clinton, Sarah Paulson ("American Horror Story") as Linda Tripp, Annaleigh Ashford ("Masters of Sex") as Paula Jones, and Billy Eichner ("The Lion King") as Matt Drudge.
Sarah Burges is writing and will executive produce alongside Murphy, Nina Jacobson, Brad Simpson, Brad Falchuk, Larry Karaszewski, Scott Alexander, Alexis Martin Woodall, Hannah Fidell, Paulson and Feldstein. Filming will begin on March 21, and production is expected to run through October, so there is no official premiere date, yet.
