The Thanksgiving box-office was as bountiful as could be expected, with "Frozen II" breaking more records and newcomers "Knives Out" and "Queen & Slim" overperforming as they successfully provided adult counter-programming to Disney's behemoth. Overall, while the box-office was down 7% before the holiday, after the strong five-day performance it is now down only 5.6% from the same point last year.

Find out more about the weekend box-office after the jump.

Disney's "Frozen II" brought in an estimated $85.2 million over the weekend and $123.7 million for the five-day extended holiday frame. This is the largest three and five-day Thanksgiving performances ever, surpassing "The Hunger Games: Catching Fire", which scored $109 million between Wednesday and Sunday in 2013 (also in its second week in theaters). The animated film has now grossed $287.5 million in just ten days.

Overseas, "Frozen II" has delivered another $163.8 million over the weekend, bringing its international cume to $451 million. The film's worlwide total is now at $739 million after just 12 days in theaters.

In second place we find the first of the new releases, Rian Johnson's murder mystery "Knives Out", which opened with $27 million over the weekend from 3,461 theaters. Its five-day gross is estimated at $41.7 million, which is incredible since initial projections hinted at a $20-25 million five-day debut. Overseas, it brought in $28.3 million, including $13.5 million from China.

"Knives Out" cost $40 million to produce and it received an enthusiastic reception from both critics (96% on Rotten Tomatoes and 82 on Metacritic) and moviegoers ("A-" from CinemaScore's polls).

The biopic "Ford v Ferrari" finished in third place and dropped just 17%, grossing $13.2 million over the 3-day time frame, and $19 million for the extended weekend. This brings the film's domestic tally to $81 million, while overseas it added another $10.2 million for an international total of $62.3 million.

Sony's Mister Rogers movie "A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood" also performed well, dropping just 11% in its second weekend. The film grossed $11.8 million for the 3-day and $17.3 million for the 5-day weekend. Its domestic total now stands at $34.3 million.

The Top 5 is rounded out by the last of the new releases, the romantic thriller "Queen & Slim", which opened with $11.7 million over the three-day weekend and an estimated $15.8 million over the extended time frame from 1,690 theaters.  The film's production budget is reportedly around $20 million.  "Queen & Slim" received generally positive reviews from both critics (85% on Rotten Tomatoes and 74 on Metacritic) and moviegoers ("A-" from CinemaScore).
