Sandra Bullock and Netflix Re-Team for Sci-Fi Movie REBORN

Sandra Bullock and Netflix Re-Team for Sci-Fi Movie REBORN
Following the success of Sandra Bullock's Netflix supernatural thriller "Bird Box", which has reportedly been streamed in more than 80 million households, the Oscar-winning actress will produce the streaming service's upcoming sci-fi film titled "Reborn".

The film is based on the comic book written by Mark Millar and Greg Capullo, which centers on an elderly woman who dies in a Manhattan hospital only to find herself reborn in the afterlife world of Adystria, where good and evil are waging an eternal war amid dragons. She then sets off on a quest to find her late husband.

This adaptation is the first step in a planned franchise of films, TV shows and kids' series based on Millar's works, as Netflix has acquired Millarworld in 2017, the comic book publishing firm founded by Millar. Millarworld's portfolio includes "Kick Ass", "Kingsman", "Wanted" and "Old Man Logan", among others.

Here's what Millar had to say about the deal in 2017:
"This is only the third time in history a major comic book company has been purchased at this level,” after Warner Bros. bought DC Comics in 1968 and Disney bought Marvel in 2009. I’m so in love with what Netflix is doing and excited by their plans. Netflix is the future, and Millarworld couldn’t have a better home."

Chris McKay ("The Lego Batman Movie") has signed on to direct "Reborn". "It" producer Vertigo Entertainment is also on board to produce. The film has not yet been cast. Millar and Capullo will serve as executive producers.
