"Furious 7" once again dominates the weekend box-office and has now blown past the $800 million mark worldwide, and is very close to becoming the first film in the history of Universal Pictures to reach $1 billion.

Find out more about the weekend box office after the jump.

Obviously, Universal has a big winner on their hands. "Furious 7" grossed $60 million over the weekend, a 59% drop from its opening weekend, but a very solid second week result. The film has grossed $800 million worldwide in 10 days. By comparison, "Fast & Furious 6" grossed $788 million in 105 days. No doubt the film generated a lot of emotional energy due to Paul Walker's untimely death, and combined with the franchise's growing popularity which began in 2009 with Justin Lin's "Fast & Furious", the results are astonishing.

The new release "The Longest Ride", a Nicholas Sparks adaptation, opened in third place with $13.5 million. The result is better than expected, but far from the $30 million opening weekend of "Dear John".

The top 10 is currently seeing some new entries in the form of expanding limited releases. While last week's "Woman in Gold" is only seeing a slight increase and holding steady at No. 7, the Al Pacino drama "Danny Collins" and Noah Baumbach's "While We're Young" are seeing significant improvements.

New Wide Releases: "The Longest Ride".
