Oscar Isaac and Ana De Armas to Star in David O. Russell Directed Series BANANAS

Oscar Isaac Ana De Armas David O Russell Series Bananas

Oscar Isaac ("Dune") and Ana de Armas ("Ballerina") are set to star in Apple TV's new high-profile drama series tentatively titled "Bananas", which will be directed and executive produced by five-time Oscar nominee David O. Russell ("American Hustle", "Silver Linings Playbook").

The premise is kept under wraps but it has been revealed through sources that the working title refers to so-called banana republics, politically and economically unstable countries in areas such as Central America. The series is created, written and executive produced by Carolina Paiz ("Orange is the New Black", "Narcos")

Isaac will executive produce via MadGene Media alongside Gena Konstantinakos. The actor recently finished production on Julian Schnabel's "Hand of Dante", and can next be seen in Guillermo del Toro's "Frankenstein", which hits theaters in 2025.

This would be de Armas' English-language series debut. She will next be seen starring in Lionsgate's "John Wick" spinoff "Ballerina", which opens in theaters on June 6, 2025.

Russell is set to direct the Amazon MGM Studios film "Madden" starring Nicolas Cage.
