Rachel Brosnahan to Star in Sci-Fi Comedy DISTANT

Rachel Brosnahan to Star in Sci-Fi Comedy DISTANT
Rachel Brosnahan, the Emmy-winning star of "The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel", is set to join Amblin's upcoming comedic sci-fi film "Distant". The film will be directed by Will Speck & Josh Gordon ("Blades of Glory", "Office Christmas Party") from a script by Spenser Cohen ("Extinction").

The film will tell the story of an asteroid miner, played by Anthony Ramos ("In the Heights"), who crash-lands on an alien planet and must contend with the challenges of his new surroundings, while making his way across the harsh terrain to the only other survivor – a woman who is trapped in her escape pod.

Brian Kavanaugh-Jones ("Midnight Special"), Fred Berger ("La La Land"), and Anna Halberg ("Extinction") are on board to produce, while Speck and Gordon will executive produce along with Jonathan Rothbart and Matt Hirsch.

Production is scheduled to start next month.

Brosnahan will next be seen in Julia Hart and Jordan Horowitz's new drama "I'm Your Woman", and opposite Benedict Cumberbatch in the spy movie "Ironbark".
