"Harriet" is historical biopic directed by Kasi Lemmons from a script she co-wrote alongside Gregory Allen Howard ("Remember the Titans"). The film tells the story of American freedom fighter and abolitionist Harriet Tubman (Cynthia Erivo), who escaped slavery and led hundreds of enslaved people to freedom on the Underground Railroad. Leslie Odom Jr., Joe Alwyn, Janelle Monae, Jennifer Nettles, Clarke peters and Vondie Curtis-Hall co-star.

"Harriet" premiered at the 2019 Toronto International Film Festival, and it opened in theaters on November 1, 2019.
