"City on a Hill" is a new crime drama series created by Chuck MacLean based on an original idea by Ben Affleck and Chuck MacLean. Affleck also serves as an executive producer alongside Matt Damon and filmmaker James Mangold ("Logan"). "Homicide: Life on the Street" and "Oz" creator Tom Fontana is on board as showrunner.

The show is set in Boston in the early 1990s, and it's a fictional account of the so-called "Boston Miracle". Aldis Hodge stars as District Attorney Decourcy Ward, who forms an unlikely alliance with corrupt but venerated FBI veteran Jackie Rohr (Kevin Bacon) to take on a family of armored car robbers from Charlestown. The cast also includes Jonathan Tucker, Mark O'Brien, James Michael Cummings, Sarah Shahi, Kevin Dunn, Jill Hennessy, Amanda Clayton, Rory Culkin and Jere Shea.

"City on a Hill" premiered on June 7, 2019 online and on June 16, 2019 on Showtime.

"City On A Hill is created and executive produced by Chuck MacLean (Boston Strangler), with multiple Emmy winner Tom Fontana (Homicide: Life on the Street) serving as showrunner, executive producer and one of the writers. The series is set in early 1990s Boston, rife with criminals emboldened by local law enforcement agencies in which corruption and racism was the norm. In this fictional account, assistant district attorney Decourcy Ward (Hodge) arrives from Brooklyn and forms an unlikely alliance with a corrupt yet venerated FBI veteran, Jackie Rohr (Bacon). Together, they take on a family of armored car robbers from Charlestown in a case that grows to involve, and ultimately subvert, the entire criminal justice system of Boston. Produced by SHOWTIME, CITY ON A HILL also stars Jonathan Tucker (Kingdom), Mark O’Brien (Halt and Catch Fire), Jill Hennessy (Crossing Jordan), Lauren E.
