The Super Bowl weekend favored the animated sequel "Kung Fu Panda 3" which managed to stay ahead of three new wide releases: the Coens' period comedy "Hail, Caesar !", the Nicholas Sparks adaptation "The Choice" and the horror parody "Pride and Prejudice and Zombies".

Find out more about the weekend box office after the jump.

Grossing an estimated $21 million over the weekend, "Kung Fu Panda 3" is still the #1 movie at the box-office despite a pretty steep 49% drop from its opening weekend. The film has now grossed $69 million domestically and $129 million overseas.

In second place we have the first of the new releases, the Coen brothers' "Hail, Caesar!" with $11.4 million, which is also their worst opening in over 1,500 theaters. The film did enjoy some pretty good reviews, so maybe word-of-mouth will help it a bit. Still, with a production budget estimated at $22 million, it's not exactly a disaster.

"The Revenant" and "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" are still going strong in third and fourth place, respectively. The Leonardo DiCaprio starrer has added another $7.1 million to its domestic total and has now reached $326 million worldwide. The eight episode in the "Star Wars" saga has become the first film in history to gross $900 million, but the worldwide total is only at $2.008 billion, close to "Titanic", but worlds away from "Avatar"'s huge $2.7 billion.

The other two new releases fill out the next positions in the Top 10. "The Choice" landed in fifth with $6 million, the lowest opening weekend for a Sparks adaptation. The romantic drama only cost $10 million to produce, a crushing defeat it is not. Close behind at #6 is "Pride and Prejudice and Zombies" with a weak $5.2 million versus a $28 million budget.

New Wide Releases: "Hail, Caesar!", "The Choice", "Pride and Prejudice and Zombies".

Biggest Drop : "The Finest Hours" (-54%)
