There were a lot of rumors that mentioned the fact that the Bale-Nolan Batman series will end with "The Dark Knight Rises", but fans were hoping they were just that, rumors. Unfortunately for them (and Warner Bros.), leading man Christian Bale and director Christopher Nolan have officially confirmed that they will not continue their work on the franchise after next year's third installment. Bale declared in a recent interview : "I wrapped a few days ago so that will be the last time I'm taking that cowl off," Bale said "I believe the whole production wrapped yesterday, so it's all done. Everything's finished. It's me and Chris - that will be the end of that Batman era." This of course means that Warner will have to let Batman go for a while, or, they could start all over again in the same way as "Spiderman". Although I hate all this rebooting going on lately, I do understand that the pressure of fans and box-office results will probably force Warner to rethink the future of the franchise. I wouldn't want to be in their shoes though, because it's really hard to follow up Nolan's brilliant work on the series. As confirmation of a possible Batman reboot is the statement made by a Warner Bros. executive, which I talked about in the following article : Batman Gets Rebooted

The Official Evil Dead Remake Logo.
Sam Raimi decided against doing a sequel for the "Evil Dead" franchise, choosing instead to produce a remake/reboot which will be directed by promising young director Fede Alvarez (More on that in my post : EVIL DEAD Remake is Alive and Well ). Screenwriter Diablo Cody was brought in to do a rewrite of Alvarez's script. The interview above (courtesy of Collider) has Cody dropping a few more clues about her involvement in the remake. Apparently, her rewrites dealt more with dialogue and characters. Diablo Cody busted out of anonimity with her Oscar-winning script for "Juno". Since then she's also written the scripts for "Jennifer's Body", which turned out to be a flop, and served as creator/writer of the popular TV series "United States of Tara". She has also penned the screenplay for the upcoming movie "Young Adult" starring Charlize Theron and Patrick Wilson and directed by "Juno" helmer Jason Reitman, which will be released this December.

So you thought Ricky Gervais really pissed off the Hollywood folks during this year's Golden Globes show ? And you thought that they would never, ever, allow him to play host again after his last performance filled to the brim with scathing jokes. If so, you thought wrong. According to certain reports, the Hollywood Foreign Press Association wants the british comedian to return for the 2012 Golden Globes. Although it's not 100% official, yet, Gervais is actively mentioning the topic on his blog : "What actually tipped the balance and made me say yes, was the fact that it would shut up all those fucking idiots who said that I’d never be invited back. Is that the wrong reason to do something? Ha ha. I think it is.". If you're wondering just how incisive his jokes will be this time around, here's what Gervais has to say about that : "Now here’s the thing. The outrage I caused was of course, as usual, totally out of proportion to the things I said. I don’t think anyone had any right to be offended but they were. This year I’m going to make sure their offence is completely justified." Oh yeah, here comes the pain ! If you want to see Johnny Depp take his revenge on Gervais for his Golden Globes performance, watch this clip from the british series "Life's Too Short".
