"Uncle Drew" is a basketball comedy directed by Charles Stone III ("Drumline") from a script written by Jay Longino ("Skiptrace"). The film stars Boston Celtics player Kyrie Irving as the titular Uncle Drew, a character based on Irving's Pepsi Max commercials, who decides to help a down-and-out street ball team manager (Lil Rel Howery) win the Rucker Classic tournament in Harlem. To this end they round up Drew's old basketball squad, played by Shaquille O'Neal, Chris Webber, Reggie Miller, Nate Robinson, and Lisa Leslie.

The film also stars Erica Ash, Tiffany Haddish, Nick Kroll, Mike Epps and J.B. Smoove.

"Uncle Drew" opened in theaters on June 29, 2018 and received mixed reviews from critics. The film opened with $15.5 million at the box-office, finishing in fourth place.

"After draining his life savings to enter a team in the Rucker Classic street ball tournament in Harlem, Dax (LilRel Howery) is dealt a series of unfortunate setbacks, including losing his team to his longtime rival (Nick Kroll). Desperate to win the tournament and the cash prize, Dax stumbles upon the man, the myth, the legend Uncle Drew (NBA All-Star Kyrie Irving) and convinces him to return to the court one more time. The two men embark on a road trip to round up Drew's old basketball squad (Shaquille O'Neal, Chris Webber, Reggie Miller, Nate Robinson, and Lisa Leslie) and prove that a group of septuagenarians can still win the big one."
