Kristen Wiig Confirmed as WONDER WOMAN 2 Villain Cheetah

An unconfirmed report started floating around last week that Kristen Wiig ("Bridesmaids") was considered for the role of the villainous Cheetah in the upcoming sequel "Wonder Woman 2". The studio did not confirm any negotiations or casting at the time, but now we finally have confirmation.

The source is none other than "Wonder Woman" director Patty Jenkins, who is set to write, direct and produce the sequel. Wiig was apparently very high on Jenkins' list, and the director delivered the confirmation via Twitter:

Star Gal Gadot also welcomed Wiig to the franchise:

The DC Comics character Cheetah was created by William Moulton Marston and first appeared in the "Wonder Woman" comics in 1943 and has since received several aliases: Priscilla Rich, Deborah Domaine, Barbara Ann Minerva/Cavendish and Sebastian Ballesteros. The character has the appearance of a cheetah and possesses superhuman speed, reflexes, and strength, as well as enhanced sight and smell. Also claws and fangs. She will make for a very freaky CGI character, since I doubt they'll go practical in this digital age.

"Wonder Woman 2" opens in theaters on November 1, 2019.
