Kate Beckinsale is set to star in a new eight-episode series from Amazon and ITV titled "The Widow". The show was created by "Fleabag" executive-producers and "The Missing" writers Harry and Jack Williams.
Beckinsale will play Georgia Wells, a woman who has left her old life behind, but is forced to return in search of the truth after seeing her supposedly dead husband on the news. The mystery will lead her into the depths of the African Congo, where danger and revelation will greet her at every turn.
This is the actress' third collaboration with Amazon, following the Jane Austen adaptation "Love & Friendship", and the Marc Webb drama "The Only Living Boy in New York". The series will be produced by Eliza Mellor and directed by Sam Donovan and Olly Blackburn.
