The "Twin Peaks" revival series premiered last night with its first two episodes on Showtime (with episodes 3 and 4 available for streaming shortly after the premiere), 25 years after David Lynch revolutionized television forever.

The third season of the classic series features almost all of the original cast, including Kyle MacLachlan as FBI Special Agent Dale Cooper and Sheryl Lee as Laura Palmer. Also returning are co-creator Mark Frost and composer Angelo Badalamenti. New additions to its cast include Laura Dern, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Naomi Watts, Eddie Vedder, Michael Cera, Brett Gelman, Tim Roth, Sharon Van Etten, Amanda Seyfried, Robert Forster, Madeline Zima and Charlyne Yi.

"Twin Peaks" Season 3 features 18 episodes, all directed by Lynch.

Widely considered one of the most groundbreaking and influential broadcast series of all time, Twin Peaks followed the inhabitants of a quaint northwestern town who were stunned after their homecoming queen Laura Palmer was shockingly murdered. The town's sheriff welcomed the help of FBI Special Agent Dale Cooper, who came to town to investigate the case. As Cooper conducted his search for Laura's killer, the town's secrets were gradually exposed. The mystery that ensued set off an eerie chain of events that plunged the inhabitants of Twin Peaks into a darker examination of their very existence. Twenty-five years later, the story continues..."
