"The Wizard of Lies" is an HBO film directed by Barry Levinson ("Rain Man", "Wag the Dog") that chronicles the events surrounding the Ponzi scheme created by Bernie Madoff (Robert De Niro), which defrauded his clients of billions of dollars, and the impact that Madoff's fraud had on his family.

The film is based on Diana B. Henriques' nonfiction book "The Wizard of Lies: Bernie Madoff and the Death of Trust". Michelle Pfeiffer, Lily Rabe, Alessandro Nivola, Hank Azaria, Nathan Darrow, Kristen Connolly, Kathrine Narducci and Steve Coulter also star.

"The Wizard of Lies" premieres tonight on HBO at 8p.
