Independent studio Ready at Dawn, best known for games like "The Order: 1886" and the "God of War" series, have released the first trailer for their upcoming multiplayer-only arena brawler named "Deformers".
According to the studio's co-founder and chief creative officer Ru Weerasuriya, the game "might not be what you expect out of our studio". He then goes on to explain the difference between this new project and their previous ones: "The foundation of The Order was the [intellectual property], creating something that felt different in the gaming world. That was the driving force then. Here the driving force is gameplay. The very first idea was gameplay, the very last idea will be gameplay, too. It’s only driven by that."
The game features characters (called "forms") that can change their shape and perform various abilities like rolling, dashing, jumping, and they can absorb the enemy to become stronger. The multiplayer is both online and local, and the teams will consist of up to eight players total.
"Deformers" doesn't have an official release date, but it's expected to be released soon on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
