A new installment for the acclaimed strategy game "Civilization" was announed today by Firaxis via a trailer and a few screenshots.
"Civilization VI" is the first major release in the franchise since 2010, following the fifth game and its 2014 sci-fi spinoff "Beyond Earth". The new game was built using a brand-new engine which adds not just cosmetic improvements, but also more functionality, including more expressive AI characters and much bigger cities.
And speaking of the AI characters, the developer says that they will function on the basis of the newly introduced "dynamic diplomacy", a function which allows them to change their motivations over the course of a game based on the player's interaction with them, and who they were in history.
"Civilization VI" will be released on PC on October 21st.
Check out the trailer and images after the jump.
