Kaya Chan Isnt Scary Anime Series Trailers Clips Images Posters

"Kaya-chan Isn't Scary" is a new anime series based on the Japanese supernatural horror manga series written and illustrated by Tara Yuri. The anime is directed by Hiroshi Ikehata ("Dark Gathering") at East Fish Studio, with series composition by Shigeru Murakoshi ("Ninja Kamui"), character designs by Taro Yamada and Hiroyuki Moriguchi and music by KOHTA YAMAMOTO and Shun Narita ("Dark Gathering"). Yukio Nagasaki serves as sound director.

The opening theme song is "Maboroshi no Yukue" ("The Phantom's Destination") performed by Isekaijoucho, while the ending theme song is "Playmour" performed by Sak and Tao featuring Azusa Tachibana as the titular character. The voice cast also includes Maaya Uchida, Yuki Kaji, Fukushi Ochiai, Azusa Tadokoro, Shiori Izawa, Toshiyuki Morikawa, Mamiko Noto, Haruka Tomatsu and Yoshiko Sakakibara.

The anime premiered on January 11, 2026 and also streams on Crunchyroll.

"Kaya-chan attends Hanamugi Kindergarten, and she has an incredibly strong sixth sense. She secretly beats up the ghosts that stalk her friends and family, but in turn, she's treated like a troublemaker since nobody understands her strange behavior. Everything changes when her teacher, Chie, discovers her secret. Kaya-chan's fists will go flying at any sinister spirits that show up!"
