"Highest 2 Lowest" is a crime thriller directed by Spike Lee from a script by Alan Fox based on the 1963 Japanese film "High and Low" by Akira Kurosawa. The 2025 film has been described as a remake and reinterpretation of Kurosawa's classic, which in turn was based on the 1959 novel "King's Ransom" by Ed McBain.

The cast includes Denzel Washington, Jeffrey Wright, Ilfenesh Hadera, ASAP Rocky, John Douglas Thompson, Dean Winters, LaChanze, Princess Nokia and Ice Spice. "Highest 2 Lowest" premiered at the 2025 Cannes Film Festival, opened in select theaters on August 15, 2025, and was released via streaming on Apple TV+ on September 5th.
