"The Blackening" is a slasher horror spoof directed by Tim Story ("Ride Along") from a script by Tracy Oliver and Dewayne Perkins based on the 2018 short film of the same name by the comedy troupe 3Peat. The cast includes Grace Byers, Jermaine Fowler, Melvin Gregg, X Mayo, Perkins, Antoinette Robertson, Sinqua Walls, Jay Pharoah and Yvonne Orji. The film premiered at the 2022 Toronto International Film Festival, and opened in theaters on June 16, 2023.

"The Blackening centers around a group of Black friends who reunite for a Juneteenth weekend getaway only to find themselves trapped in a remote cabin with a twisted killer. Forced to play by his rules, the friends soon realize this ain't no motherfu**in' game.
