New Trailers: COBWEB, NIMONA, JOY RIDE, ELIO, THE UNKNOWN COUNTRY and BAD GIRL BOOGEY

Cobweb Lizzy Caplan Horror Trailer

Today we have new trailers for:
  • The supernatural thriller "Cobweb" starring Lizzy Caplan, Woody Norman, Antony Starr, and Cleopatra Coleman. The film is directed by Samuel Bodin, best known for his work on the viral fan short film "Batman: Ashes to Ashes" and the French horror series "Marianne", and the script is penned by Chris Thomas Devlin ("Texas Chainsaw Massacre").
  • Netflix's animated adventure film "Nimona" based on N.D. Stevenson's acclaimed graphic fantasy novel. The voice cast includes Chloe Grace Moretz, Riz Ahmed, Frances Conroy, RuPaul, Indya Moore and Lorrain Toussaint.
  • The comedy "Joy Ride" starring Ashley Park, Sherry Cola, Stephanie Hsu, Sabrina Wu and Ronny Chieng. The film is produced by Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg, and marks the directorial debut of "Crazy Rich Asians" writer Adele Lim.
  • Disney and Pixar's new animated film "Elio", featuring the voices of America Ferrera, Yonas Kibreab, Jameela Jamil and Brad Garrett.
  • The drama "The Unknown Country" starring Lily Gladstone ("Killers of the Flower Moon").
  • The acclaimed Australian slasher horror film "Bad Girl Boogey" directed by Alice Maio Mackay from a script co-written by Mackay and Ben Pahl Robinson.

Synopsis:


"Dark Star Pictures will release Alice Maio Mackay’s acclaimed slasher film BAD GIRL BOOGEY this summer.

The film, which received a positive reception at its premiere at Popcorn Frights Film Festival followed by a healthy festival run including Monster Fest and Salem Horror Film Festival,

will release on digital platforms July 4 and DVD release on July 11. Select theaters will also screen the film from July 7.

BAD GIRL BOOGEY follows Angel whose mother was brutally murdered one Halloween night, when blood was shed by a deranged killer wearing a parasitic mask cursed with black magic and bigotry. Sixteen years later, when Angel’s best friend is slaughtered by a killer with the same mask, they must overcome their personal struggles, fight their fear, and find the masked killer before he, or it, slaughters everyone they hold dear.

Directed, Produced, and Co-Written with Ben Pahl Robinson – by then seventeen year old transexual filmmaker Alice Maio Mackay, BAD GIRL BOOGEY ushers in an inclusive slasher film proudly representing the queer community and loudly announcing an exciting new directorial voice.
