"Away" is a sci-fi drama series created by Andrew Hinderaker ("Pure Genius", "Penny Dreadful"). The show stars Hilary Swank as an American astronaut who must leave her husband and teenage daughter behind in order to command an international space crew embarking upon a treacherous, three year-long mission.

The cast also includes Ato Essandoh, Mark Ivanir, Ray Panthaki, Vivian Wu, Talitha Bateman and Josh Charles. The first episode is directed by veteran filmmaker Ed Zwick ("The Last Samurai", "Glory"), who is also an executive producer on the series alongside Matt Reeves ("Cloverfield").

"Away" premiered on September 4, 2020 on Netflix.
