"The One and Only Ivan" is a fantasy adventure film directed by Thea Sharrock ("Me Before You") from a script by Mike White ("School of Rock") based on the children's novel of the same name by K.A. Applegate.

The film tells the story of a gorilla named Ivan (voiced by Sam Rockwell), who tries to piece together his past with the help of an elephant named Stella (Angelina Jolie) as they hatch a plan to escape from captivity. The cast also features Bryan Cranston, Ramon Rodriguez, Ariana Greenblatt, Indira Varma and Eleanor Matsuura, and the voices of Danny DeVito, Helen Mirren, Brooklynn Prince and Phillipa Soo.

"The One and Only Ivan" was originally intended to be released theatrically, but due to the coronavirus pandemic it will be released digitally on Disney+ on August 21, 2020.
