Nicolas Cage to Play TIGER KING'S Joe Exotic in Eight-Episode Series

Nicolas Cage to Play TIGER KING'S Joe Exotic in Eight-Episode Series
Nicolas Cage is set to star in an upcoming eight-episode scripted series as Joe Exotic, the subject of the hit Netflix docuseries "Tiger King: Murder, Mayhem, and Madness." Based on the Texas Monthly article "Joe Exotic: A Dark Journey Into the World of a Man Gone Wild" by Leif Reigstad, the series is being produced by Imagine Television Studios and CBS Television Studios.

The story centers around Joe Schreibvogel, aka Joe Exotic, an eccentric, exotic zookeeper in Oklahoma who fights to keep his park even at the risk of losing his sanity. The series will explore how he became Joe Exotic, and lost himself to a character of his own creation.

"American Vandal" producer Dan Lagana will write, executive produce and serve as showrunner. Cage, Brian Grazer, Samie Kim Falvey, Scott Brown and Megan Creydt will executive produce.

This is Nicolas Cage's first ever regular television role. He is also set to star in the comedy "The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent", and has finished work on the drama "Pig".
