"The Turning" is a supernatural horror film directed by Floria Sigismondi ("The Runaways") from a script by Chad Hayes & Carey W. Hayes ("The Conjuring") based on the 1898 novella "The Turn of the Screw" by Henry James. The film is executive produced by Steven Spielberg.

The film stars Mackenzie Davis as a young governess in the 1990s who is hired to watch over two young children at a remote estate after their parents' deaths, and becomes convinced that the grounds are haunted. Finn Wolfhard, Brooklynn Prince, Joely Richardson, Barbara Marten and Mark Huberman co-star.

"The Turning" premiered at the Los Angeles Film Festival and was released in theaters on January 24, 2020.
