The tenth season of the dramedy series "Shameless" has premiered on November 10, 2019 on Showtime. Developed by John Wells based on Paul Abbott's British series of the same name, the show is currently Showtime's longest-running original scripted series.

Emmy winner William H. Macy stars as Frank Gallagher, the working class patriarch of an unconventional Chicago brood of six kids, who keep the home afloat while their dad is out drinking and carousing. The new season picks up six months after last season's finale, as Frank's latest scheme involves prescription drugs, Debbie (Emma Kenney) takes over as head of the Gallagher house, Lip (Jeremy Allen White) and Tami (Kate Miner) are still together, Carl (Ethan Cutkosky) finishes military school, Liam (Christian Isaiah) wants to learn more about black history with the help of V, while Ian (Cameron Monaghan) and Mickey (Noel Fisher) are reunited in jail. The cast also includes Shanola Hampton and Steve Howey.

"The tenth season picks up six months after last season’s finale. Frank (Macy) uses his leg injury to collect as many prescription drugs as possible, and his exploits lead him to an old friend. Emboldened by the $50,000 left to her by Fiona, Debbie (Emma Kenney) has stepped in as the family's new matriarch, ruling over the Gallagher household with an iron fist. Lip (Jeremy Allen White) navigates his relationship with a newly affectionate Tami (Kate Miner). Carl (Ethan Cutkosky) has to decide what to do with his life as he finishes military school and heads back to the South Side. Liam (Christian Isaiah) is committed to learning more about black history and culture under the tutelage of V (Shanola Hampton), as Kev (Steve Howey) faces an identity crisis. Gallavich returns this season as Ian (Cameron Monaghan) and Mickey (Noel Fisher) rekindle their romance in prison as both cellmates and lovers.
