"The Good Liar" is a thriller directed and produced by Bill Condon ("Gods and Monsters", "Dreamgirls") from a script by Jeffrey Hatcher ("Mr. Holmes", "The Duchess") based on the novel of the same name by Nicholas Searle.

The film stars Ian McKellen as a career con man who sets his sights on a recently widowed former history teacher at Oxford (Helen Mirren) who is worth millions. However, an apparently simple swindle becomes a suspenseful cat-and-mouse game. Russell Tovey, Jim Carter, Mark Lewis Jones and Celine Buckens co-star.

"The Good Liar" opened in theaters on November 15, 2019.
