Disney's 2019 computer animated musical "The Lion King" is a remake of the studio's 1994 film of the same name. The remake replaces the original's traditional animation with new photorealistic CGI, and it features a new cast, as well as new music from Hans Zimmer, Elton John and Tim Rice.

Directed by Jon Favreau ("The Jungle Book") from a script by Jeff Nathanson ("Catch Me If You Can", "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales"), the film features the voices of Donald Glover, Seth Rogen, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Alfre Woodard, Billy Eichner, John Kani, John Oliver, Beyonce, James Earl Jones, Florence Kasumba, Keegan-Michael Key and Eric Andre. Beyoncé Knowles-Carter also contributed a new song titled "Spirit" (music video after the jump).

"The Lion King" opened in theaters on July 19, 2019 and received mixed reviews from critics.
