The second season of the superhero series "Black Lightning" has premiered on October 9, 2018 on The CW. Based on the DC Comics character of the same name, the series was created by Salim Akil and stars Cress Williams as Jefferson Pierce, a school principal who is drawn back into his old life as vigilante superhero Black Lightning when his daughter seeks to serve justice to evil-doers.

The new season introduces Looker (Sofia Vassilieva) and Dr. Helga Jace (Jennifer Riker). Jordan Calloway as Khalil/Painkiller has been elevated to regular status. The series also stars China Anne McClain, Nafessa Williams, Christine Adams, Marvin Jones III, Damon Gupton and James Remar.
