Written and directed by Alice Rohrwacher ("The Wonders", "Corpo Celeste"), the Italian drama "Happy as Lazzaro" ("Lazzaaro Felice") tells the story of Lazzaro (Adriano Tardiolo), a naive and optimistic twenty-year-old farmer, who befriends Tancredi (Luca Chikovani), a young man with a fervid imagination. Their unexpected friendship endures over time, until until Tancredi departs for the city, and Lazzaro sets out to search for him.

"Happy as Lazzaro" was nominated for the Palme d'Or at the 2018 Cannes Film Festival and Rohrwacher won Best Screenplay. The film was relesed by Netflix on November 30, 2018.

"Lazzaro is a naive and optimistic twenty-year-old farmer; Tancredi is instead a young man with a fervid imagination. Between the two it is born an unexpected friendship, that above all for Lazzaro turns out to be an important moment of growth. Over time, the two face many difficulties together, until Tancredi makes his tracks lose in the city, and Lazzaro sets out to search for him."
