Bryan Fuller and Hart Hanson Exit AMAZING STORIES Reboot at Apple

It was reported today that "Hannibal" and "American Gods" TV series creator Bryan Fuller and "Bones" creator Hart Hanson have exited the upcoming rebooted version of "Amazing Stories". Developed by Apple, the show was a 10-episode reimagining of Steven Spielberg's 1980s anthology series which ran for two seasons, received 12 Emmy nominations and won five. Spielberg is attached to the new project as executive-producer. Hanson was set to serve as showrunner for the reboot.

According to sources, Fuller's departure was amicable as his vision for the show clashed with Apple's desire to create a family-friendly product. This is the third time Fuller has exited a TV series in the past few years, after leaving the Starz series "American Gods" along with Michael Green, and stepping down as showrunner of CBS' "Star Trek: Discovery". He is currently attached to a potential adaptation of Anne Rice's book "The Vampire Chronicles" for Paramount TV.
