NEWS: Christine Taylor Back for ZOOLANDER 2, Matthew McConaughey in GOLD, Brad Pitt Goes to AFRICA, Emma Watson in BEAUTY AND THE BEAST

Christine Taylor Picture
It was confirmed today that Christine Taylor will return in the role of journalist Matilda Jeffries for "Zoolander 2". The actress told EW that:
"I can tell you that I’m involved, but that’s all I can say. I can tell you it’s happening, but I can’t tell you where Matilda’s at and where their relationship is at. It’s all top secret!"
The sequel has been in the works for years, but it seems like this time it's actually moving forward. Penelope Cruz and Will Ferrell both signed on to star alongside Ben Stiller. Stiller co-wrote the script alongside Justin Theroux who will also direct.

Matthew McConaughey
Matthew McConaughey is set to star in "Gold", the true story of a modern day gold prospector from director Stephen Gaghan ("Syriana"). The script was written by Patrick Massett and John Zinman and the film will begin filming in June. Here is the official synopsis:
"Gold is inspired by the thrilling true story of Walsh (McConaughey), a modern day prospector, hustler and dreamer, desperate for a lucky break. Left with few options, Walsh teams up with an equally luckless geologist to execute a grandiose, last ditch effort: find gold deep in the unchartered jungle of Indonesia. Together, they embark on an incredible rollercoaster ride, journeying from Walsh’s sleepy mining town to the mysterious rivers banks of Borneo to the high stakes boardrooms of Wall Street, and culminating in one of the most unexpected and scandalous frauds of our time."

Brad Pitt
Brad Pitt is in talks to join Angelina Jolie's next directorial project "Africa". The film, described as a "sweeping epic" is a biopic of Richard Leakey, an African-born fossil hunter who fought against elephant and rhino poaching. The script has been written by Eric Roth ("The Curious Case of Benjamin Button"). The film is expected to start shooting this summer. Jolie spoke about the film in a recent interview:
"I’ve felt a deep connection to Africa and its culture for much of my life, and was taken with Eric’s beautiful script about a man drawn into the violent conflict with elephant poachers who emerged with a deeper understanding of man’s footprint and a profound sense of responsibility for the world around him."

Emma Watson
Disney is on a roll with their live-action adaptations. Last year we had "Maleficent", in March we've got the "Cinderella" movie coming out, and next year we're getting Jon Favreau's "The Jungle Book". So, here's another one. Disney is moving forward with a "Beauty and the Beast" movie. The new live-action adaptation will be directed by Bill Condon ("Twilight Breaking Dawn") and written by Stephen Chbosky ("The Perks of Being a Wallflower"). Also, Disney announced that Emma Watson has been cast as Belle. Watson was initially attached for the same role in Guillermo del Toro's "Beauty and the Beast" which was being set up at Warner Bros. But, Del Toro dropped out and now Watson has switched adaptations. Here is the official press release from Disney:
"Actress Emma Watson has been cast as Belle in Disney’s upcoming live-action interpretation of Beauty and the Beast. The film is directed by Bill Condon and produced by Mandeville Films’ David Hoberman and Todd Lieberman. Production is anticipated to begin later this year."
