The romantic comedy "Crazy Rich Asians" is an adaptation of the novel of the same name written by Kevin Kwan. The film is directed by Jon M. Chu ("Now You See Me 2") from a script by Peter Chiarelli ("The Proposal") and Adele Lim (episodes of "Lethal Weapon" and "Life Unexpected").

Constance Wu stars as Rachel, a native New Yorker who accompanies her longtime boyfriend, Nick (Henry Golding) to his best friend's wedding in Singapore. Rachel is unprepared to learn that Nick has neglected to mention a few key details about his life, like the fact that he's an offspring of the country's wealthiest families and also one of its most sought-after bachelors. Michelle Yeoh, Gemma Chan, Awkwafina, Ken Jeong, Sonoya Mizuno, Lisa Lu, Chris Pang, Jimmy O. Yang and Remy hii.

"Crazy Rich Asians" opened in theaters on August 15, 2018 and received positive reviews from critics. While the studio is expecting a five-day opening of around $29 million, the overwhelmingly positive reception might lead to a higher $35-40 million debut.

""Crazy Rich Asians" follows native New Yorker Rachel Chu (Wu) as she accompanies her longtime boyfriend, Nick Young (Golding), to his best friend's wedding in Singapore. Excited about visiting Asia for the first time but nervous about meeting Nick's family, Rachel is unprepared to learn that Nick has neglected to mention a few key details about his life. It turns out that he is not only the scion of one of the country's wealthiest families but also one of its most sought-after bachelors. Being on Nick's arm puts a target on Rachel's back, with jealous socialites and, worse, Nick's own disapproving mother (Yeoh) taking aim. And it soon becomes clear that while money can't buy love, it can definitely complicate things."
