"Solo: A Star Wars Story" is a new entry in Disney's series of Star Wars anthology/spinoff movies, and an origin story for legendary space rogue Han Solo, played by Harrison Ford in the original trilogy.

Alden Ehrenreich stars as young, aspiring pilot Han, who embarks on a series of daring escapades deep within a dark and dangerous criminal underworld, and in the process meets his future copilot Chewbacca (Joonas Suotamo) and equally famous frenemy Lando Calrissian (Donald Glover).

The film is directed by Ron Howard ("Apollo 13", "A Beautiful Mind"), replacing Phil Lord and Christopher Miller who left the project citing "creative differences". The cast also features Emilia Clarke, Woody Harrelson, Thandie Newton, Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Linda Hunt, Jon Favreau, Warwick Davis and Paul Bettany.

"Solo: A Star Wars Story" opened in theaters on May 25, 2018, and received a mixed reception from both critics and moviegoers. The film is expected to top the Memorial Day Weekend at the box-office with over $130 million.
