"Dark" is a new Netflix series and the streaming service's first German-language original series. Created by Baran bo Odar (The U.S. thriler remake "Sleepless") and Jantje Friese ("Who Am I"), the show focuses on the effects of the disappearance of two young children in the 1980s on a German town, unearthing well-kept secrets and a supernatural mystery.

The cast features Oliver Masucci, Karoline Eichhorn, Jördis Triebel, Louis Hoffman, Maja Schone, Stephan Kampwirth, Daan Lennard Liebrenz, Andreas Pietschmann and Deborah Kaufmann.

"Dark" was released on December 1st, 2017 and received mixed reviews from critics, who compared it, mostly negatively, to "Stranger Things".
