The biopic "All Eyez on Me" tells the true and untold story of prolific rapper, actor, poet and activist Tupac Shakur, from his early days in New York, to his evolution as an American icon before his untimely death at the age of 25.

Directed by Benny Boom ("S.W.A.T.: Firefight"), the film stars Demetrius Shipp Jr., Danai Gurira, Kat Graham, Lauren Cohan, Dominic L. Santana, Cory Hardrict, Jamie Hector and Keith Robinson.

John Singleton ("Boyz n the Hood") was for a long time attached to write and direct the film but ultimately quit due to creative differences. The film also stirred some controversy when Jada Pinkett Smith, who is portrayed in the film by Kat Graham, accused the filmmakers of inaccurately portraying ("reimagining") her relationship with Shakur.

"All Eyez on Me" opened in theaters on June 16th, 2017, on what would have been Tupac Shakur's 46th birthday. It was panned by critics for being a superficial biopic, but managed to open in third place at the box-office with a solid $27 million.
