After the huge success of "Mad Max: Fury Road", Charlize Theron is ready to shift gears into a different franchise. The actress has closed a deal to star as a villain in Universal's "Fast 8". There are no details available regarding the role, but it is hinted in the official tweet announcing Theron's casting, that the character will be the crew's "greatest adversary".
The eighth installment in the "Fast & Furious" franchise will be directed by F. Gary Gray ("Straight Outta Compton") who has previously worked with Theron on the 2003 action remake "The Italian Job". The sequel also stars Vin Diesel, Dwayne Johnson, Jason Statham, Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson, Ludacris and Kurt Russell.
"Fast 8" opens in theaters on April 14, 2017.
