This iconic bad guy from Robert Kirkman's comic is the foul-mouthed and incredibly violent leader of a group of survivors from Washington, DC called the Saviors. This group tracks down other communities and forces them to trade supplies for protection against walkers. Negan is also known for the use of a baseball bat covered in barbed wire which he affectionately calls "Lucille", and the need to gather a harem made up of other men's wives. In the comics, he used "Lucille" to kill Glenn.
The casting process for the character was secretely conducted under the name "Orin" and the contenders for the part included Timothy Olyphant, Matt Dillon and Garret Dillahunt. The season six finale begins filming in Atlanta this week.
