It seems that Sony's "The Rosie Project" has just hit one masssive roadblock. The romantic dramedy was developed as a vehicle for "The Hunger Games" star Jennifer Lawrence, with "Boyhood" helmer Richard Linklater set to direct. Now, both Lawrence and Linklater have departed the project for unspecified reasons. The actress has just finished work on "X-Men: Apocalypse" and is currently filming the sci-fi drama "Passengers". "The Rosie Project" was set to begin production this winter.
However, Jennifer Lawrence is now in talks to star in Darren Aronofsky's next film. There is no information on what this project would be, but it's nevertheless an interesting pairing for what looks to be an indie project. Despite all the secrecy, sources say that the film is expected to start filming this spring.
Lawrence can be seen this year in the final chapter of the "Hunger Games" saga, "Mockingjay Part 2", and the biopic "Joy", her third project with director David O. Russell.
