Although the rumor has been floating around for a while, it has now been officially confirmed that Rachel McAdams ("True Detective" Season 2) will star in Marvel's "Doctor Strange" opposite Benedict Cumberbatch. McAdams herself provided definitive confirmation during an interview at the Toronto International Film Festival. There is no information about what role the actress will play, but it's probably the love interest of Cumberbatch's Dr. Stephen Strange.
The cast already includes Tilda Swinton as the Ancient One, Dr. Strange's mentor, and Chiwetel Ejiofor as the villain, Baron Mordo. Rumors also indicate that Mads Mikkelsen is a possible choice for another villainous role. Filming begins this November in London.
"Doctor Strange" is set to open in theaters on November 4, 2016.
