First SUICIDE SQUAD Trailer and Pictures

Suicide Squad Movie Trailer and Pictures

The first trailer for David Ayer's "Suicide Squad" has been released shortly after it was first shown at this year's Comic-Con. It seems that Warner Bros. tried to contain leaked footage from appearing online, but failed (much like every other anti-piracy effort every other studio ever tried), so they decided to release it officially and in appropriate high quality. Here's the studio's official statement:
"Warner Bros. Pictures and our anti-piracy team have worked tirelessly over the last 48 hours to contain the Suicide Squad footage that was pirated from Hall H on Saturday. We have been unable to achieve that goal. Today we will release the same footage that has been illegally circulating on the web, in the form it was created and high quality with which it was intended to be enjoyed. We regret this decision as it was our intention to keep the footage as a unique experience for the Comic Con crowd, but we cannot continue to allow the film to be represented by the poor quality of the pirated footage stolen from our presentation"
Now back to the trailer. "Suicide Squad" follows the adventures of DC Comics supervillains who are recruited by the government to carry out impossible missions in exchange for their release from prison. The trailer offers an extremely satisfying glimpse of the characters and mayhem, and it all looks exactly as you would expect from a movie directed by David Ayer. There's also a first look at Jared Leto's Joker towards the end. Although a lot of people have a problem with the character's new look, I think it's a bold and weirdly appropriate look, a perfect mix of insanity and grim menace set in Ayer's universe of urban chaos.

The film also stars Will Smith as Deadshot, Margot Robbie as the Harley Quinn, Jai Courtney as Captain Boomerang, Cara Delevingne as Enchantress, Joel Kinnaman as Rick Flagg, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje as Killer Croc, Jay Hernandez as El Diablo, Karen Fukuhara as Katana, Adam Beach as Slipknot, Viola Davis as Amanda Walker, Ike Barinholtz as Hugo Strange, Raymond Olubowale as King Shark and Jim Parrack as Jonny Frost. Alex Meraz, Scott Eastwood and Common co-star in unknown roles.

"Suicide Squad" opens in theaters on August 5, 2016.
