As the sequel to the 2014 "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" movie is preparing to begin production next month, we have a new bit of casting. Variety reported that Tyler Perry ("Gone Girl") has joined the movie's cast and he will star as Baxter Stockman, a mad scientist, sociopath and creator of the "Mousers", machines designed to find and destroy sewer rats. The character was featured in the Nickelodeon animated TV show and is one of the major villains.
While Perry is know for his Madea roles, he's also been part of more serious projects like "Alex Cross" and "Gone Girl". This movie, however, begs for some scenery chewing. Megan Fox and Will Arnett will reprise their roles from the first film, and they will also be joined by Stephen Amell ("Arrow") as the vigilante Casey Jones.
Directed by Dave Green ("Earth to Echo "), "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2" opens in theaters on June 3, 2016.
