Charlotte Gainsbourg Joins INDEPENDENCE DAY 2

I will admit that this is one bit of news that I wasn't expecting. Roland Emmerich has announced that Anglo-French actress Charlotte Gainsbourg ("Nymphomaniac", "Antichrist") has joined the cast of the sci-fi sequel "Independence Day 2". This is an unusual choice for the actress and it would be her first blockbuster experience, but it does lend the movie some acting cred points. The sequel's cast so far includes Jeff Goldblum, Liam Hemsworth and Jessie Usher. Emmerich, Dean Devlin and Harald Kloser are producing. "Independence Day 2" opens in theaters on June 24, 2016.
